Siouxland Severe Weather Network and the Siouxland Severe Weather Storm Chase Team have become very important aspects to the communities within the surrounding area. Our presence has become known across the area, and we have conducted various interviews with media sources. An article about our storm chase team was produced by the Leader-Courier Times based in southeast South Dakota. Our team was interviewed by Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE as well. In this interview, the college emphasized the importance of our impact on the Siouxland area. Here are some of our other accomplishments.....
Siouxland Severe Weather Network is proud to be storm chasing in affiliation with TVN Weather! Our StormTrax team will be live streaming many of our storm chasing expeditions on arguably the most popular weather streaming site in America! Be sure to watch! We look forward to providing live video coverage for our Siouxland residents!
We are a proud member of spotter network! The SpotterNetwork brings storm spotters, storm chasers, coordinators and public servants together. It provides accurate position data of spotters and chasers for coordination/reporting and provides ground truth to public servants engaged in the protection of life and property.
We are now the "Gold Standard" in Siouxland for live weather reports and updates! Many area meteorologists, representatives of the Siouxland media, EMTs, weather spotters, first responders, law enforecement, and photographers are members of our Network!
Jeff Robinson is also a Forum Moderator at the National SKYWARN Forum. SKYWARN® is a volunteer program with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
Our network has been accepted as a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador! The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador initiative is an effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation’s readiness against extreme weather, water, and climate events. As a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, our organization is committing to work with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather.
Jeff Robinson, founder of Siouxland Severe Weather, informs area residents of the upcoming forecasts and possible severe weather chances over 104.1 The Wolf out of Yankton, SD.
